GITEX LATAM 2027

GITEX Expands to Latin America with GITEX LATAM 2027 in São Paulo

📅 Dates: March 16–17, 2027

📍 Location: Distrito Anhembi, São Paulo, Brazil

GITEX will expand into Latin America with the launch of GITEX LATAM, taking place in São Paulo on March 16–17, 2027. Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International in strategic partnership with the São Paulo Development Agency (ADESAMPA), the inaugural edition will bring GITEX’s global technology and digital investment platform to the region for the first time.

The launch comes as Latin America’s digital economy continues to grow. According to figures cited from PCMI, the region’s digital market was projected to reach almost US$950 billion by 2026. GITEX LATAM will focus on areas including artificial intelligence, agritech, cloud, connectivity, cybersecurity, data centres, healthtech and renewable energy, with an emphasis on public-private collaboration, investment and digital infrastructure.

GITEX Expands Its Global Network

GITEX has expanded its international presence rapidly, building a network of technology events across 14 cities and countries within three years. Brazil will join that network in 2027 with the first Latin American edition.

Brazil is also one of the world’s leading adopters of digital public infrastructure, providing centralised access to hundreds of public services and digital identities for more than 150 million citizens. According to projections cited in the announcement, the country’s ICT market could reach US$259 billion by 2033, while its AI market could grow to US$99.8 billion over the same period.

“Brazil is the vibrant cornerstone of Latin America’s economy and a distinguished benchmark for dynamic, inclusive, and consequential technology development. Together with São Paulo – a prolific hub where startup ingenuity, entrepreneurial spirit, and ambitious investments thrive – GITEX LATAM shall integrate Latin America with the limitless digital universe, unlocking unprecedented access to capital, knowledge, tech, and talent,” said Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International.

Connecting Latin America with Global Technology Markets

Latin America’s emerging markets and developing economies collectively generated GDP of US$6.8 trillion in 2025, according to International Monetary Fund figures cited in the announcement. Against this backdrop, GITEX LATAM is being positioned as a platform for connecting international technology companies, investors and policymakers with businesses and innovation ecosystems across the region.

The programme will span AI, agritech, cloud, connectivity, cybersecurity, data centres, healthtech and renewable energy. It will also explore how capital, technology and cross-border partnerships can support digital transformation, competitiveness and new infrastructure across Latin American markets.

São Paulo as a Regional Innovation Hub

São Paulo will host the inaugural edition at Distrito Anhembi. According to StartupBlink’s Global Startup Ecosystem Index Report 2025, the city ranks first in Brazil and across Latin America for its startup ecosystem.

The announcement also cites more than US$33.5 billion in venture capital funding attracted by São Paulo over the previous decade. The city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem has reached an estimated value of US$113 billion and produced 11 unicorns valued above US$1 billion, according to Real Instituto Elcano.

“São Paulo is excited to host GITEX LATAM, a landmark catalyst enabling our finest innovators to meet global opportunities. This platform will connect pioneering startups, unicorns, and influential enterprises with international markets, unlocking capital, forging partnerships, and expanding visibility on the world stage,” said Ricardo Nunes, Mayor of São Paulo.

Rodrigo Goulart, Municipal Secretary of Economic Development and Labour of São Paulo, also highlighted the potential for closer technology cooperation across Brazil and Latin America, as well as new opportunities for investors, entrepreneurs and emerging talent.

A Platform for Enterprises, Startups and Investors

GITEX LATAM will bring together global technology companies, SMEs, startups, venture capital firms, policymakers and thought leaders. The programme is designed to address major digital agendas and emerging technology shifts while providing a common platform for business development, investment and cross-border collaboration.

For startups and growing companies, the event will offer exposure to international investors and commercial partners. Companies interested in participating can submit a startup inquiry, while businesses seeking further participation opportunities can use the dedicated prize enquiry form.

For established technology businesses, GITEX LATAM will provide access to markets across Latin America while creating new opportunities for cooperation with public-sector organisations and regional innovation ecosystems.

From GITEX GLOBAL to Latin America

GITEX LATAM was announced in October 2025 during GITEX GLOBAL in Dubai. Brazil participated as the official Country Partner at the 45th edition of GITEX GLOBAL, with ApexBrasil presenting more than 50 startups and innovation hubs across two pavilions. The City Hall of São Paulo also showcased more than 10 startups, while Chile and Ecuador made their debut at the event alongside representatives from more than 180 countries.

The expansion also follows wider cooperation between Brazil and the UAE. After the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rio de Janeiro in November 2024, which coincided with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, both sides reaffirmed their strategic partnership and identified AI, agriculture, climate change, innovation, renewable energy and emerging technologies as areas for further collaboration.
